Well I'm Standin on the Corner in Winslow Arizona

Winslow is a city in Navajo County, Arizona, in the United States. Born as a railroad hub, Winslow was once the most important city in northern Arizona until train travel declined after World War II. The town then reinvented itself, becoming an important stop along Route 66 which originally went through the city. Winslow achieved national fame in 1972 in the Eagles / Jackson Browne song “Take it Easy” which has the line “standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona”. Browne was traveling through Arizona when he began working on the song, but the scene about the corner and a girl in the Ford was written by Glenn Frey of the Eagles after Browne related an incident involving a girl, and a Toyota pickup. According to Frey, the second verse of "Take It Easy" refers to a time when Jackson Browne's automobile malfunctioned in Winslow, Arizona, during one of his trips to Sedona, requiring him to spend a long day in Winslow. In 1999, in responding to the lyrics that made it famous, the city of Winslow erected a life-size bronze statue of Jackson Browne and mural commemorating the song at the Standin' on the Corner Park. In 2016, a life-sized statue of Glenn Frey was added to the Standin' on the Corner Park in Winslow, Arizona to honor his songwriting contributions to "Take It Easy".
